What catch-up funding is for
The government announced £1 billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up lost time after school closure. This is especially important for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds.
School allocations will be calculated on a per pupil basis.
Mainstream school will get £80 for each pupil in from reception to year 11 inclusive.
Ebbsfleet Green has been allocated £1,760 for our COVID-19 Premium Grant in order to address some of the issues which have arisen as a result of COVID-19 imposed periods of isolation and lockdown.
Ebbsfleet Green's intent
Our main aims are to ensure that no child is penalised as a result of COVID-19; that academic attainment, wellbeing and social development is not compromised in the longer term and that our values and aspirational targets continue to thrive.
Our vision continues to drive everything we do and enables all children to reach their potential. COVID-19 will not compromise this.
We intend to do this through a clear recovery plan, the implementation of catch-up strategies, a developed hybrid curriculum and targeted support throughout the school day and beyond. Remote teaching and learning will be fully utilised during periods of imposed isolation and lockdown. Our longer-term intention to transfer the lessons from lockdown learning into future practice enabling us to provide opportunities for round-the clock learning which spans the curriculum and beyond 24/7.
Through on-going formative assessment, we will ensure that precision teaching enables any gaps in learning to be closed.
Targeted reading and phonics materials, in collaboration with on-going assessment, will ensure that the children are reading at their precise zone of proximal development at all times.
Our hybrid curriculum will maximise learning opportunities at home and at school.
